Our work included various extensions to the existing marketplace for bricks-and-mortar services. We have analyzed the usability of the existing system, and based on our results we have prepared a responsive layout, which improved the readability and understandability of the platform. In addition we have simplified some UI processes and implemented several new back-end functionalities. Our work improved not only how the product looks and feels – we have increased the project’s code quality by refactoring some of its parts. Last but not least we did a system upgrade as well as a migration of all the existing data from the old system to the new version (for two different instances). During the whole project lifetime we served as technical support for the platform.
Web application to monitor patients mood and needs
We have implemented from scratch a system to monitor the mood and needs of patients of an old people’s home. We have prepared a clear and easy-to-use RESTful API as the back-end, while on the front-end we have used the modern material design layout.
Our solution is a cross-platform application which can be used on small smartphones, tablets as well as on the laptops or regular PCs. In the case of this project we have done more than possible to make the application readable, and easy-to-use, especially for older people. As always, we support our client after the implementation is finished with our knowledge as well as with our skills to extend the solution and make it even better!
Web system for business analysis of different IT solutions
We have built from scratch a system dedicated to store, analyze and process various data describing all the possible IT services. We have designed, implemented and installed a responsive web platform addressing all the needs of our client. We have provided different tools to analyze the data, including fast search engine, wide range of different filtering options, and a broad set of economic functions. The developed software is equipped with an easy to handle permissions policy to handle different access rights available for different types of users. All the system configurations and stored data can be maintained by administrators in a separate, easy to understand web tool.
Our solution is based on simple but powerful RESTful API which makes it much easier to extend or to integrate it with other third-party components. On the front-end we have used a modern material design layout which follows the world’s best practices of how to design and present the UI elements.
Server environment & database migration
We have migrated the python application from a dedicated server to Heroku. In addition we have re-implemented the static files storage to work with Amazon Simple Storage Service. Then we have migrated the data from the mySQL database to Postgres. Thanks to migration to the modern IaaS and PaaS platforms, the system is much more scalable and mainatainable. During the process of the migration, we have also improved the overall system speed and responsiveness. After the code review we have found the main bottlenecks and then we have fixed them.
Business analysis of the potential of using the IIoT-based solutions in the manufacturers business
Together with other business partners we have prepared a business analysis of the influence of introducing the IIoT technologies in the business of manufacturing and maintaining the complex semi-automated machines. Our task was to analyze the input in this field in the scientific literature as well as to aggregate it with the findings delivered by other project partners.
